2015 Monaco Grand Prix

The 2015 Monaco grand prix will be remembered for one thing and one thing only. The Mercedes team's wretched strategic call to bring Lewis Hamilton in for a tyre changing pit stop – while the race was under Safety Car conditions – on lap 65 of the 78 lap race ultimately cost the double world champion a much deserved victory in this the most glamorous race of the year.

Taking his first pole position at the narrow and twisting circuit that climbs and plunges around the Principality Lewis looked in invincible form right up until that infamous stop.

Splitting the two Mercedes drivers on the podium Sebastian Vettel finished in a fine second place after a solid performance.
