2019 Monaco Grand Prix

Starting from pole position Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes took the lead from the start. A less than ideal tyre strategy call by his team meant the Englishman drove the majority of the race under serious pressure from Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

The Dutchman pushed Hamilton hard but failed to usurp the reigning world champion eventually finishing second on the road but fourth in the final standings due to a five second penalty for an unsafe pit stop release.

Benefiting from the sanction imposed upon Verstappen were both Sebastian Vettel who bought his Ferrari home second and Hamilton's Finnish team mate Valtteri Bottas who placed third.
