2019 Chinese Grand Prix

Sadly - for almost everyone concerned - the much trumpeted 1000th Formula 1 grand prix failed to live up to the pre-event hype. Starting from pole position Valtteri Bottas failed to convert his impressive practice and qualifying pace as Lewis Hamilton swept in to the lead courtesy of a fantastic start.

Controlling the race from then on the reigning world champion took the 75th podium top-step finish of his stellar F1 career. Bottas completed the Mercedes team's third consecutive 1-2 finish of the three race old season so far ahead of Sebastian Vettel's third placed Ferrari.
